Both my father and I have produced many booklets over the years.
My father's have concentrated mainly on technical subjects and his beloved local landscapes.
Mine have mainly been 'how to' guides for amateur artists with recently aquired disabilities.
Here is a small selection, covering a wide spectrum.
I put this together as a 'Vanity' publication some years ago, to serve as a memory-jogger for a number of aquaintances. For reasons that I really cannot explain, I started to receive a number of requests for extra copies. Because of this I decided to continue publishing it. This proved to be a good decision, with sales much higher than I would ever have anticipated.
The booklet is simply :
'a few scraps, selected from a large heap, produced over a long time ...
... and offered without comment '.
Illustrations, cartoons, poems and annecdotes from my life.
£3.50, inclusive of P&P.
This booklet was produced at the request of Huddersfield University and Calderdale College during the period when 'disabled students' were being encouraged to join 'mainstream' courses.
I was asked to share my specialist knowledge of teaching 'excluded' students:
this was the result.
It is still in use as a reference book for new 'special needs' teachers is considered 'essential' reading by many.
£3.50, inclusive of P&P.
Ah, Branwell...!
Very talented and hugely misunderstood. Thedisturbed brother of our three famous local scribblers.
A man who deserves to be named alongside his sisters, as more than their equal.
£3.50, inclusive of P&P.
I ran a number of introductory courses to the Bodhran (the Irish version of the European frame-drum) at several venues, including the University of Huddersfield ... and kept getting asked back !
This very simplistic little pamphlet formed part of the basic course and gives a number of simple guidlines for the absolute beginner.
£1.75, Inclusive of P&P.
